Applications for 2017 Fellowships are now closed.

Indigenous Fellowships were available for indigenous career professionals or students (e.g. from a technical college, university, or the equivalent in different countries) who had an abstract (oral or poster) accepted, but were without institutional support to participate in the Forum. Applicants from indigenous people from the following nations were considered for this Fellowship (in alphabetical order): Australia, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hawaii, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Fed States), Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, North Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Vanuatu, West Papua (Indonesia). There were no restrictions on the age of the applicants.

Fellowships were awarded based on: a) the quality and relevance of the abstract to the themes of the Forum; and b) the benefit of the fellowship to the applicant. Depending on the needs of the applicant, funding was offered for travel to and from the Forum, accommodation during the Forum, registration, or for the full travel package. Applications closed Monday 19th December 2016; applicants were notified of the outcome the same day.
