Whilst dining on local produce, meet other participants at the Forum and grow your network! Dress code is ‘smart casual’ – you are encouraged to wear your ‘traditional clothes’ or your best ‘islander shirt, pants, skirt or dress’?! Come and discuss life, culture and ecosystem services with people from different nations and with diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

When registering for the Forum you were requested to register your attendance at the Social Event. To those who registered for the Social Event, please check the back of your name tag for your dinner and 1 drink voucher (beer, wine and soft drink)! Further drinks can be purchased by participants at the bar. Dinner at the event includes (note: the menu is open to change based on the availability of seasonal and local produce; participants with special dietary needs will be reasonably foodaccommodated for):

  • freshly baked artisan breads
  • mezze platters of seasonal antipasto and sliced prosciutto
  • selection of salads
  • garlic grilled Moreton Bay bugs

Introducing Leopold’s Treat!  

Through music, local band ‘Leopold’s Treat’ will share their experiences and messages on nature anmusic-awardsd people. In 2016, the band received Emerging Artist of the Year in the Gold Coast Music Awards, having being selected as finalists in multiple categories, including Song of the Year for their track ‘Houndogs n’ Bullfrogs’. Leopold’s Treat was ranked amongst the top 10 for the Peoples Choice Award. Leopold’s Treat have connected their passion for the environment with creating music – they describe their music as ‘experimental acoustic folk’, seeing dynamic rhythms intertwined with emotive slide guitar and bright acoustic melodies.
